Music, comedy, and inspirational humans galore.

Like most people of my generation, I’ve been a YouTube junkie since I was in middle school. While the people I subscribe to on YouTube today are very different from back then, it’s still a huge part of my life, especially because the seven YouTubers below are so brilliant.

While here at CF, we’re constantly talking about our favorite beauty gurus (we’re a style blog after all), there’s so much more to YouTube than just tutorials!

Whether you’re a casual skimmer or a YouTube addict like me, you’re bound to find something you’ll enjoy below.

1. ChewingSand

ChewingSand, AKA Hazel Hayes, is one of my absolute favorites.

She has a series, called Tipsy Talk, which is an interview series that has featured stars like Margot Robbie and Amy Adams. She also does more casual vlogs with her friends like fellow YouTubers Jack Howard and Dodie Clark (who will be featured later in this article).

She’s also a filmmaker, and is currently in post-production for a series that will air on FullScreen. Naturally, she talks a lot in her vids about movies she loves, and why she loves them.

If you like her videos, you should definitely be following her on Twitter: @TheHazelHayes

2. Doddleoddle

Part vlog, part music channel, Doddleoddle, AKA Dodie Clark, is a must-follow for music lovers.

Easily my favorite new discovery (and I don’t know why it took me so long to find her), Dodie’s music is so moving, and I love it all, especially her song, “When,” featured above.

Dodie also does a lot of vlogs centered on mental illness, and she’s passionate about raising awareness for depression and anxiety. As someone who has also struggled with mental illness, I find her vlogs refreshing and honest.

3. Bad Lip Reading

If you haven’t heard of Bad Lip Reading (BLR), then you’ve probably been living under a rock. Nevertheless, BLR has been one of my favorites for a loooong time, and it’s for two reasons:

They’re funny, and they’re consistent.

While some YouTube channels will have one or two great videos (like FilmCow, the creators of Charlie the Unicorn and Llamas with Hats), BLR’s first great video is, arguably, their spoof of Twilight, which they posted several years ago.

BLR exceeds many other comedy channels by not only maintaining consistency, but developing a range–they do spoof music videos as well.

Above is my personal favorite, “Medieval Land FunTime World,” a spoof of Game of Thrones

4. Jack & Dean

Jack & Dean, AKA Jack Howard (mentioned above) and Dean Dobbs, have been around for a very long time on YouTube, producing sketches like Fac-e-book, and the series Jack & Dean of All Trades, which also runs on FullScreen.

Jack & Dean of All Trades (the first episode of which is above) follows two guys trying to find a job, and trying just about everything in the process. It’s smart, funny, and very British, which is about all you could ever want.

They’re easily my favorite comedy duo on YouTube, and probably my favorite sketch channel around.

5. How It Should Have Ended

Like BLR, you’ve probably encountered How It Should Have Ended (HISHE) at some point.

While their standard videos, which describe how a movie should have ended (go figure), are fabulous, what really makes HISHE shine is Super Cafe.

Featuring Superman and Batman sitting at a cafe, drinking coffee, Super Cafe is everything I didn’t know I wanted.

Take a peek at the video above for a sample. If you like what you see, you should also check out the spin-off, Villain Pub

6. ItsWayPastMyBedtime

ItsWayPastMyBedtime, AKA Carrie Hope Fletcher, is one of the most inspiring and lovely vloggers on the internet.

Calling her subscribers “Hopefuls,” Carrie uses her vlogs to talk about her life and what she’s learned — and also to sing with power and emotion

Carrie is a successful performer on London’s West End, and is currently playing Wednesday in a production of Addams Family Values. She has also published two books: a memoir called All I Know Now, and a series of young adult novels

Carrie is a beautiful singer and a beautiful person, and you can follow her on Twitter @CarrieHFletcher.

7. Good Mythical Morning

Created by Rhett and Link, a YouTube tour de force, Good Mythical Morning (GMM) is a regular part of my daily morning routine.

GMM follows the format of a morning talk show, but don’t let that fool you — it’s way weirder and way more fun than anything on network television.

The best part of GMM is how much fun it is. It makes it so that I start every day laughing, and that happiness follows me the rest of the day.

Rhett and Link also have a main channel, where they do sketch comedy and original songs that are equal parts hilarious and catchy.

What about you?

Who do you love to subscribe to on YouTube? Do you have a favorite series or video?
