Last week, I waxed poetic about why Carrie Bradshaw’s style is still relevant and iconic today, and told you how to dress like her.

And while Carrie is the ultimate fashion icon of “Sex and the City,” she’s not the only fashion girl around. Charlotte York‘s style is also awesome. In some scenes I even found myself coveting her classically girly look more than Carrie’s.

Read on to find out how to re-create Charlotte’s signature looks in a way that works for a 2016 college girl just as well as a 30-something gallery owner in the ’00s.

Outfit #1: Plaid coat

The plaid coat above is my all-time favorite Charlotte fashion moment. From the print to the buttons to the structure, the topper is the perfect finishing touch to an otherwise simple outfit.

You could get a similar vibe with a solid, structured, long coat and a printed top, but I love how unexpected a statement coat is. Plus, bold outerwear makes you feel a little bit better about cold weather. (Snag this coat now and wear it in the fall!)

For an elegant finishing touch to this otherwise relaxed look, I love a pop of color in the form of a big earring and a chic structured bag. I’m sure Charlotte would approve.

Outfit #2: Pink dress

Charlotte knows the beauty of the LPD — little pink dress. From the peplum number above to the iconic moment when she struts out of her apartment looking like Elizabeth Taylor in a strapless pink frock, it’s a signature Charlotte look.

I love an LPD because it’s an instant girly statement. You can (and should) keep the rest of your outfit minimal and let the dress do the talking. And what it’s saying is you’re posh and polished, but still fun.

Charlotte loves shoes, especially peep toes. These metallic babies prove that a pair of heels can be neutral and still gorgeous. Go big with a great cocktail ring — bonus points if it matches your clutch.

Outfit #3: Structured jacket and printed skirt

A cute jacket and skirt combo was kind of a uniform for Charlotte over the years. The typical college girl equivalent would be a mini and a denim jacket, and that’s certainly super cute. But you can also channel Charlotte’s polished vibe in a longer skirt and more structured jacket.

A bright jacket and bold printed skirt are fun (and I think Charlotte would dig this artsy pattern). Neutral peep toes keep the look more Charlotte than Carrie (who would probably add another pop of color). And as the teen or 20-something that you are, opt for a tee and a big statement necklace to keep the look young and fresh.

I love the idea of carrying tiny bags for day, as the SATC ladies often did.  It’s pretty impractical for people like me who basically like to have a whole CVS with them at all times. Still, if you’re just headed to brunch for example, it can work. Better yet, stash your necessities in a little clutch, throw it in your work tote, and just take the little bag on your lunch break. So chic.
