If the Color Pink Isn't Your "Thing," Read This
You CAN wear pink as an adult.
When people think of the color pink, they think of something like this:
No wonder so many people refuse to wear pink.
The general consensus is that pink is an über-feminine color – and if you’re not that kind of person, you can’t work it into your outfits. With millennial pink being a recent trend, the perception of the color is starting to change. However, there are still some common misconceptions about what wearing pink has to look like.
If you want to get a healthy variety of colors into your wardrobe, you shouldn’t shun pink just because of the stigma attached to it, which dictates that pink can’t be professional, edgy, or anything short of ridiculous on a grown woman.
Here are a few pink outfits meant to challenge some common stereotypes.
Pink Outfit #1: You can’t be taken seriously wearing pink

While you might think this outfit is “boring,” you are having fun with colors – see the flowy pink blouse and beautiful baby blue bag. And because skirt suits can be bland, I chose to contrast the skirt and jacket.
The gold jewelry is fun while still looking professional. (Adding a watch helps too!) Last, add some office-approved beauty picks – rosé lip balm and floral hand cream.
Pink Outfit #2: Only people with really girly style wear pink

Edgy style is supposedly the antithesis of girly style. Not true. Just look at this pink leather jacket that is decidedly tough AND feminine. To make an edgier look with this jacket, I stuck with black and silver for the rest of the outfit – but black doesn’t mean boring!
Take a basic tank top, and pair it with distressed skinny jeans, a step up from plain old jeans. Your favorite ankle boots get an update with some silver studs.
Speaking of silver, a simple outfit is more fun with silver accessories, like these spiky drop earrings and ring set. But the best piece? An arm cuff. Vastly under-appreciated, an arm cuff is subtle, but looks great with a tank top.
Finish with a #bossbabe (bonus points for the pink!) phone case, like this one from Rebecca Minkoff, and a black liner, if you want to add some extra drama.

If you’re going to a fancier restaurant, or just hanging out on a gorgeous summer evening, this is the perfect outfit!
Hot pink, like any other vibrant color, can be tricky to style. But summer is the season of bold color, so we can add other colors to round out the pink. This outfit balances the brightness of the pink with cooler greens and blues, like the ones in the earrings and clutch!
Slip dresses work really well as a more comfortable alternative to a body-con and a kimono will just add to those breezy vibes.
Add more neutral accessories so that your outfit will stay grounded — think rose-gold sandals, a white lace choker, and natural makeup, like this bronzer and lip tint.
Finish off the look with a summer classic – beachy waves.
