Major outfit envy.

I spotted Taylor killing the fashion game in this cute, transitional outfit as she was headed to a special event. Spring weather in Texas is unpredictable, so it’s always a challenge to find the perfect mix of fashionable and functional. Taylor is fully styled in this denim skirt and ethereal top. It goes without saying that she makes it look easy!

Let’s Talk Fashion

Who or what inspires your style? “I think the weather is the main determiner of what I’m going to put on. But I definitely look up to Madison Beer’s contemporary style. All of her outfits are so out of the box and she puts random things together while making [them] look good.”

Where do you like to shop? Urban Outfitters, thrift stores, Nordstrom, and I love finding little boutiques in cities.”

How would you describe your sense of style? “I would say kind of modern pieces that are meant to look vintage, if that makes sense. I’m obsessed with pieces [that look like they’re] from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s.”

Why did you choose this particular outfit? “This skirt is my go-to piece when I want to look nice, this white top reminds me of spring, and the cardigan I put on because it was chilly. Also, these shoes look good with everything.”

What fashion advice would you give to other students looking to improve their style? “Don’t look at other people and compare your clothes to theirs. Every piece looks cool to other people who don’t own it themselves. Also, don’t throw perfectly good clothes away because you don’t know if you’re going buy [something that is a] perfect match later on.”

What are your favorite trends right now? “The ripped jeans, camel trenches, and all the stripes that you see on the runway this season.”

Do you have any favorite fashion designers? if so, who? “I love Vera Wang because of her story. She didn’t become a fashion designer until her 40’s and it proves that just because you’re getting older doesn’t mean your style is aging, too. I mean, just look at her dresses. They’re timeless.”

What do you do for fun – do you have any unique hobbies or interests? “I enjoy photography and I like listening to all genres of music.”

If you could raid anyone’s closet who would it be and why? Bella Hadid’s closet would be my number one pick. I’m sure she has every fashion designer that has ever existed in there and I would never have to wear the same thing twice.”

Elements of Taylor’s Outfit

1. Denim Skirt

Denim has always been in, yet high waisted skirts have just made a comeback. Taylor got this slightly retro piece from Urban Outfitters. It has the perfect length and ideal medium-washed color to wear out-and-about on campus.

2. Lace Top

Ruffles, lightweight fabrics, and lace are always hot trends for spring. Taylor’s top fits in with this fashion protocol perfectly. This flowy white lace crop top is ideal for the season, as well as the upcoming summer months.

3. Druzy Necklace

Taylor’s Kendra Scott necklace is grey yet also has a hint of warmth to it. Its yellow gold mixes perfectly with her muted yellow cardigan from Target.

4. Suede Heels

Suede is a transitional fashion staple, and these shoes are the ideal transition pieces, mixing the warm fabric with a cool peep-toe style and springlike boho feel. Suede flats would also look amazing with this look — or your favorite spring transition ensemble.
