I knew that leopard print was coming back into style the second I saw this skirt by “it” label Réalisation Par. And, lo and behold, I was right, because ever since then, I have been noticing a ton of leopard-print pieces from both higher-end and more affordable brands alike.

Now, I know that leopard print can be quite polarizing, as far as fashion trends go; on the one hand, there are people who love bold prints in general, and who are probably jumping at the chance to add another one into their daily rotation.

On the other hand, though, there are those who can’t help but cringe at the idea of wearing leopard print–which, if I’m being 100% honest, is totally understandable. After all, leopard print is one of those trends that it is very easy to go overboard with (Exhibit One: The ’80s).

Luckily, I’ve scoured the internet to find the coolest (non-tacky) leopard-print pieces, and put together four chic looks that incorporate leopard print— plus some cute leopard-print accessories, just in case you’re not 100% ready to take the plunge.

Outfit #1

Products: Blouse – Mango, Jeans – Old Navy, Necklace – Revolve, Blazer – Old Navy, Heels – Old Navy, Earrings – Revolve, Ring – Shopbop, Bracelet – Shopbop, Liquid Lipstick – Sephora, Clutch – Nordstrom, Tote – Nordstrom

For those who are just getting used to the idea of wearing leopard-print clothing, this feminine blouse is the perfect place to start. Here, I’ve styled it with black high-rise skinny jeans and a black blazer for a subtle look that would be perfect for work or an internship in a business-casual environment.

Dainty gold jewelry, like these small drop earrings, pretty necklace, and boho ring add delicate sparkle to the look, while a slightly heavier faux tennis bracelet turns things up just a little bit more.

As for shoes, stick with lower heels (like the ones shown here) or flats to keep things from going over-the-top.

A large tote in a timeless style completes this elegant daytime look

If you’re looking to transition this outfit from day to night, simply remove the blazer, swap the tote for an oversized ruffled clutch, swipe on some liquid lipstick in a classic shade of red, and you’re all set to go!

Outfit #2

Products: Shirt – Everlane, Jeans – ASOS, Coat – Zara, Necklace – Revolve, Ankle Boots – Nordstrom, Earrings – Shopbop, Ring Set – Revolve, Bracelet Set – Loft, Bag – H&M

If you already feel comfortable wearing leopard print and are looking to take things to the next level, consider trying a pair of leopard-print jeans.

I really like the idea of pairing these jeans with a top in a contrasting style, which is why I chose this crisp and preppy collarless shirt

For cooler days ahead, put on a beautiful coat in a bold shade of red.

Open-toe ankle boots are a great choice for those of us (a.k.a. me) who aren’t quite ready to bid summer goodbye just yet, but still crave a shoe style that is more sturdy and seasonally appropriate; they also add a bit more edge to the ensemble.

A beige bucket bag pulls everything together, while long gemstone earrings provide an extra pop of color.

Finally, put on a delicate gold necklace, some jewelled bangles, and several sparkly chain rings to round out the look.

Outfit #3

Products: T-Shirt – Everlane, Skirt – Zara, Jacket – H&M, Fanny Pack – Mango, Sunglasses – ASOS, Mules – Zara, Earrings – Revolve, Bracelet – Revolve, Necklace – Revolve

If your style is more contemporary and edgy, then you’ll love this look!

To get it, tuck a plain white t-shirt into a leopard-print skirt. Next, throw on a tough-chic motorcycle jacket.

Instead of carrying a traditional bag or tote, grab a quilted fanny pack for a trendy (and convenient!) way to stash your essentials.

I’m a huge fan of the unique heels on these otherwise-simple mules, so naturally I just had to include them in this look, along with a pair of square-ish cat-eye sunglasses that are sure to make you stand out from the crowd.

Lastly, for jewelry, pick out a couple of bolder pieces, like these thick hoop earrings, a charm bracelet, and a layered necklace.

Outfit #4

Products: Dress – Mango, Earrings – Shopbop, Bracelet – Shopbop, Necklace – Revolve, Nail Polish – Essie, Clutch – Nordstrom, Belt – Nordstrom, Heels – Nordstrom

I’ve got to admit, this feminine, vintage-inspired ensemble is my favorite of the bunch, which is why I’ve saved it for last!

I absolutely adore this leopard-print midi-dress, which manages to both stand out and be demure, thanks to its busy print and subtler silhouette, respectively.

Furthermore, unlike the other looks in this article, this one features quite a bit of color. But, since all of the hues I used are pastel, they won’t clash with each other or with the dress, which might happen if they were brighter. This means you can afford to incorporate a few different pastel colors into the outfit without risking looking tacky or over-the-top.

(Side note: If you do choose to pair your leopard-print piece with brighter colors, I’d personally recommend wearing no more than two shades, to prevent your outfit from looking too busy.)

That said, I’m a big believer in the power of blue shoes, which is why I chose this gorgeous Robin’s-egg colored pair. Bonus: The heels on these are nice and thick  perfect for keeping your feet comfortable during events where lots of standing and/or dancing is involved.

As for a clutch, this cheery, peachy-pink knotted one does the job just fine, and really brings out the neutral colors of the dress.

When it comes to jewelry, I’ve chosen to go with fun, vintage-esque pieces, such as these floral pearl earrings, a dainty oval-shaped locket necklace, and super-cute flower-shaped linked bangles.

Paint your nails a pretty shade of lavender, and, if you want to accentuate your waist, add a black bow belt to complete this whimsical-yet-sophisticated look.

Not ready to take the plunge? Try one of these leopard-print accessories instead!
