Go for classic but unexpected this year!

With the end of 2017 just a week away, most of you have probably thought about what you’re going to be wearing to your New Year’s Eve events.

We love NYE — it’s all about glamour, fashion, and best of all, celebrating making it through another year. Sequins, metallics, and glitter are classics for NYE. That being said, it’s definitely possible to stand out December 31st with a surprising twist to your outfit.

Read on for five New year’s Eve outfit ideas:

Outfit 1: Rock the Little Black Dress

Products: Dress – Forever 21, Moto Jacket – Hollister, Tights – ModCloth, Earrings – Charlotte Russe, Oxfords – Charlotte Russe

You can never go wrong with a little black dress! This LBD, however, has a little extra pop with the fabulous addition of polka dots and mesh. Gotta love it for its cheeky vibe and ruching down the sides.

Because this particular dress is pretty short, pair it with some fun metallic bow flats and a faux leather jacket. Throw on some fun diamond fishnet tights for warmth. If you already own a standby LBD and want to dress it up for NYE, you can’t go wrong with a surplus of sparkling accessories.

Outfit 2: Do Skinny Jeans & a Silky Top

Products: Top – Nordstrom Rack, Jeans – H&M, Cuff – Nordstrom Rack, Heels – Nordstrom Rack

This is a perfect last-minute outfit since it’s made up of clothing you probably already own!

Skinny jeans are great for day-to-day wear, but take a super dark (or black) pair and top it off with a silky top and you’ve got something totally dressy and cute for the night. Play up the glam factor with a bejeweled cuff and sparkly bow heels.

The jeans are a great choice if it’s cold where you live, or if you’re doing something active and don’t want to worry about tugging on your dress or skirt all night.

Outfit 3: Try a Non-Traditional Dress

Products: Dress – Lulus, Earrings – Kohl’s, Ring – Anthropologie, Heels – Forever 21

Though sequins and metallics are definite fashion fixtures for NYE, a dress in a deep jewel-tone color can make you stand out from the crowd. Think of jewel-tone colors as neutrals — they look great with anything, and are universally flattering!

If you still want to get in some sparkle, add on a romantic pair of earrings, a cocktail ring, and shimmery heels! Since sequins and silver are so ubiquitous every New Year’s Eve, a non-traditional dress will make you unique and cement your status as best dressed.

Outfit 4: Mix & Match with a Mini Skirt

Products: Top – Charlotte Russe, Skirt – ASOS, Earrings – Belk, Heels – Nordstrom Rack

Decided against pants but don’t want to wear a dress? Get in some mix and match action with a mini skirt and a cute top.

Crop tops are as hot as ever, so if you want to show off your glamorous side, a metallic crop top is the way to go. Meanwhile, a satin tulip mini skirt demonstrates your playful side. Because wearing a skirt gives you the option to mix and match, you can come up with a number of combinations, from a sequined skirt and a basic tank to a lacy top with a silky, berry-colored mini.

New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to try out something wild, so don’t shy away from feathers, studs, or neons if you’ve been admiring them from afar! If the weather is chilly where you are, just throw on a pair of textured tights under your outfit and you’ll be good to go.

Outfit 5: Go Super Classic & Super Trendy

Products: Top – Mango, Blazer – Forever 21, Pants – Bluefly, Earrings – Kohl’s, Ring – ASOS, Heels – Express

Tuxedo pants and blazers are total classics for big nights out. A jewel-tone velvet blazer is such a statement piece and the perfect foundation for your NYE look. The two combine to make a charming and sophisticated outfit.

This look is a great option if you want something ritzy, but not overly flashy. Make the colored velvet blazer stand out by playing it off a trendy cutout sweater. The mixed textures of your outfit will be the focal point, but don’t forget about your shoes and accessories! Black embellished heels and bold jewelry are both excellent accents.
