Fashion Inspiration: Pantone's Fall 2017 Color Palette

Your fall color palette is here!

There are plenty of things to be excited about in the fall: Halloween, pumpkin-flavored everything, the inarguably best weather of the year, and oh, yes, fall fashion

We’ve known what Pantone’s perfectly-curated palette for this season was going to be since the beginning of the year, but now we finally get to see these gorgeous colors flying onto the shelves (and into our closets!).

Pantone’s fall 2017 colors contain the usual (but no less appealing) cool neutrals, muted oranges and greens, and deep wine shades that we all know and look forward to every year. They’re gorgeous and we can’t wait to wear them.

Below, I’ve combined some of my favorite shades from the fall 2017 color palette into delightfully cozy, seasonally appropriate fall outfits that will help you get sartorially prepared for the months ahead!

Note: Most stores don’t label their fabric dyes according to the official Pantone shades listed above, so the colors might not be precisely the same shade. Please don’t tell Miranda Priestly that they look basically the same to me.

Fall Fashion Colors 2017: Tawny Port + Neutral Grey + Butterum

Products: Purse – ModCloth, Socks – ModCloth, Dress – ModCloth, Scarf – ModCloth, Shoes – ModCloth

Every autumn brings some new variation on “burgundy,” and this year’s “tawny port” is no different. This particular shade looks especially lovely when paired with the two neutrals of this fall’s palette: a creamy taupe “butterum” and an icy neutral grey.

Use this grey as a base with a cozy sweater dress and knee-high stockings, then start stacking on the color with some taupe-and-brown T-strap heels and a decadent port-colored bag

An oversized, equally cozy scarf that combines all three of these fall colors makes the perfect finishing touch!

Fall Fashion Colors 2017: Shaded Spruce + Golden Lime + Navy Peony

Products: Earrings – Icing, Shirt – ModCloth, Jumper – ModCloth, Purse – ModCloth, Shoes – ModCloth

I usually think of spring and summer palettes when I think of the color green, but these muted green shades look perfectly autumnal when paired with a rich, deep navy.

Try layering a velvety green jumper dress over a bow-tied “golden lime”-colored blouse, then pair them with some matching green velvet shoes.

Like I said, navy blue accessories really pull this palette together, so finish off the look with some blue gemstone studs and a faux-leather navy purse.

Fall Fashion Colors 2017: Autumn Maple + Ballet Slipper + Grenadine

Products: Sweater – ModCloth, Flats – DSW, Earrings – Charming Charlie, Jeans – H&M, Headband – Amazon, Purse – DSW

I didn’t think burnt orange, bright red, and pale pink could complement each other so nicely, but I’m liking this combination.

Something about the burnt orange of this autumnal, Peter Pan-collared sweater really keeps this sweet pink headband and these scalloped red flats from looking too Valentine’s Day-ish, don’t you think?

Finish off the look with some matching red studs and a couple of necessary neutrals, like this creamy purse and dark-wash jeans.

What do you think of the fall fashion colors for 2017? Which shades are your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
