Festival Fashion: What to Wear to Lollapalooza Based on Your Fave Artist
Do you prefer EDM, rock, rap, indie? There’s an outfit for that.
The end of summer is quickly approaching. There’s only one month left, ladies! By now you have been able to soak up some rays by the pool, enjoy a good bonfire and BBQ, and maybe even sit outside at night to stare at the stars.
You also might have been able to see your favorite artist play at a concert or two. If not, don’t fret! There is one more summer festival happening soon: Lollapalooza!
From August 3-6, Chicago’s very own Grant Park will house some of the best music artists to grace our ears. Get ready for 8 stages and over 170 talented musicians from all over the world. Here’s the full Lollapalooza lineup:
Oh, and if you need more convincing that you need to attend, Lolla has an art market and traditional Chicago food, drinks, and desserts from some of the best restaurants in town (count me in!).
Now, if you’re going to enjoy this fab festival, you gotta have something to wear! Below I have curated some cute Lallapalooza outfit ideas based on your favorite Lollapalooza artists.
Lollapalooza Outfit for the Alternative Chicks
For the lovers of Muse, Cage the Elephant, The Killers, The xx, Alt-J, The Head and the Heart, Arcade Fire, etc.
Alright ladies, for the lovers of alternative/indie/rock hits, here’s the look for you: pair this breezy white tee with some black distressed jeans for a haphazard, yet chic, outfit. Strap into some black platform sandals to elevate your look (and feet!).
To accessorize, throw on a sleek velvet choker and round sunnies to frame your face. Don’t forget the bling — I love these black and gold rings to accentuate your nails.
Finally, gather your things in this black leather backpack, straighten your locks, add a black suede fedora, and you’re all set!
Lollapalooza Outfit for the Hip-Hop/Rap Babes
Cue Wiz Khalifa, Run the Jewels, Chance the Rapper, Big Sean, 21 Savage, Rae Sremmurd, etc.
Get ready to jam in these super fun, comfy, camo-print joggers. To get heads turning, offset the camo with a different print, like this striped crop top.
Continue the comfy chic vibe with a cropped black hoodie, which you can tie around your waist if it gets too hot. Choose some classic Adidas sneakers and a matching Adidas cap to look effortlessly cool.
Pull your hair into a high, sleek pony with some black elastics (that don’t cause creases!). Finally, add a pair of gold hoop earrings and you are ready to go!
Lollapalooza Outfit for the Dancers/EDM Goddesses
Enjoy DJ Snake, Justice, Zeds Dead, Porter Robinson, KAYATRANADA, Baauer, Gramatik, DVBBS, Nathan Scott, and more.
To all my dancers out there – I’ve got a look for you! Start off with this super chic velvet bralette and pair it with some distressed boyfriend jeans. Slip on some fishnet tights to show through the holes in your jeans!
On top, add this beautiful iridescent crop top that shimmers in the light — you’re a star, so show it!
Strut your stuff in a pair of leather booties with an adorable peep toe to show off your glittery stockings. Keep your hair au naturel, whether straight, curly, wavy, or anything in between! Embrace you, girl.
To accessorize and finish off this look, grab some super sparkly star tassel earrings and a chunky spike necklace. Statement jewelry is key! Have fun and dance the night away, girlie.
Tell me your thoughts!
