Lily Collins Style 101: How to Get Her Chic Look
A British model and actress, Lily exudes chic elegance with every look she serves.
A while back, we listed our favorite celebrity fashion icons, and over the next few months, we’ll be breaking down each celebrity’s style in depth and showing you how to get her style for yourself. Today, we’re showing you how to get Lily Collins’ style.
Lily Collins’ fashion sense is feminine, floral, and light. She has an innocent look made more dramatic by her fair skin and dark hair. With an excess of skirts and dresses, Lily’s closet is full of ladylike staples.
Collins, a young actress, model, and writer, is a familiar face in Hollywood. First known for her role in 2009’s Oscar winner “The Blind Side”, Lily played many small roles before taking a major character role in “Mirror, Mirror” as Snow White.
Below, I’ll take you through a quick overview of her career before getting into her fashion sense and how to get Lily Collins’ style for yourself:
Lily Collins’ Early Career
Born in England, Lily started doing small roles in television as a toddler, and even guest starred in 90210 as a teen. After moving to Los Angeles to live with her mother, she went to prestigious schools and even received her broadcast journalism degree.
Lily is also a writer. She has written for Teen Vogue, The Los Angeles Times, and Seventeen, and also wrote an essay collection about her life. In her book, she addressed her parents’ divorce and trying to connect to her father, singer Phil Collins, as well as her personal struggles with insecurity and self image.
A Controversial Role
Lily faced her first major controversy in 2017, when she starred in the Netflix original movie “To The Bone”, a film that was criticized for “stigmatizing” anorexia. Lily said in an interview:
“This was something that I needed to talk about and bring to the attention of more people and go through for myself. When I read it, it struck me as such an important subject matter to bring to the attention of people. It is still considered quite taboo to talk about, and yet it’s becoming more and more prevalent within today’s society, and not just with women. If not now, when?”
Although many people signed a petition to recall the film and remove the graphic images/ideas of the disorder, others think that there’s some benefit to the film’s depiction of the disease.
Nia Charpentier, a media manager for “Rethink Mental Illness”, said:
“The media can play an important role in raising awareness and increasing understanding of difficult topics, such as mental illness. If portrayals of an illness such as anorexia are done well, it can bust unhelpful myths and encourage people to open up about their own experiences and seek help. However, getting it wrong can have serious consequences.”
Eyebrows
Lily focuses on making her impact both in her roles and in her real life. For example, she has learned to rock her looks, especially one particular feature.
Much like Cara Delevingne, Lily was blessed with bold and big brows. Though her brows are the envy of some (they even have their own Twitter account), Lily opened up about how self conscious she was growing up with such heavy eyebrows. She confessed to trying to pluck and trim them, but later realized — thanks to her mother’s advice — that they were part of who she was.
“You need to accept the quirky things that make you different and what make you beautiful,” Lily said of her mom’s advice. “It’s the things that make you stand out that make you unique.” It’s invaluable advice for your brow shape — and beyond.
Lily’s brows don’t do all the heavy lifting in making her stand out and look unique, though. She has an amazing fashion sense that’s worth celebrating. Below, we’ll get into it in depth.
Lily Collins Style & Outfits
If there’s one thing Lily Collins has mastered, it’s how to appear both elegant and youthful at once, not an easy task to manage in the fashion world.
Playful Patterns
Here, Lily appears calm and composed in her playful, peculiar matching set set. Pairing the look with classic plain black heels and a bold red lip, Lily manages to pull off a style of intricate design that not many could manage.
To get this look yourself, start with a pair of black open-toed sandals with a thick, box-like heel. Next, find an eccentric two-piece set, or romper, like the one pictured below. (In general, it’s much easier — and more cost-effective — to go the romper route with this look.) To tie in the black, layer the style with a black camisole or bralette.

Quick Elegance
In this look, Lily takes a causal and simple approach to everyday style, strolling with a cup of coffee and dark shades. Wearing dark wash cropped skinny jeans, heeled leather ankle boots, and a black turtleneck sweater, Lily creates a look made up of basics. However, by adding twists like a long, collared grey jacket and huge sunglasses, Lily prevents her look from being boring and adds a sense of elegance to it.
Get this outfit by pairing any basic pair of dark skinny jeans or leggings, brown or black ankle boots, a black sweater, dark shades, and a long, light colored coat.

Casual and Conventional
Lily takes to the streets once again wearing a classic combo, fit for staying warm while running errands. Mixing dark jeans, heeled black boots, a black turtleneck sweater, and a green combat jacket, Lily looks pretty and polished. Her casual hair and makeup pull the look together.
Style this outfit for yourself by wearing dark boots, long jeans, a black top, and a green or even tan combat/bomber jacket. And of course, a reusable Starbucks coffee cup completes any outfit.

Light and Floral
Lily appeared for the cameras at a Cartier party wearing nude heels and a matching dress/headband set. With elegant makeup and sleek hair, Lily looks pretty and polished. This outfit is incredibly unique thanks to the peculiar style of the dress: Mint satin fabric is combined with a twisted hem and baby pink faux-fur arm cuffs for an ethereal, fashion-forward vibe.
Want to make this look your own? Find a pair of baby pink or nude open-toed shoes, ideally with some type of detail on the toes. (These Jessica Simpson heels are perfect!) Next, find a matching headband in a similar shade that has an airy touch of flowers. Lastly, the most important part is the dress. A green patterned dress is similar to Lily’s, and it looks fantastic with our pink outfit accents.
