Let’s Talk Fashion

Who or what inspires your style?Pinterest. If I have an outing, style, or weather that I want to dress for, I search it on Pinterest and save all the outfits to an album on my phone.”

Where do you like to shop? “Nowhere in particular. I don’t have any go-to stores. I shop based on style as opposed to a specific store or brand.”

How would you describe your sense of style? “I think it’s pretty simple and classic. I like when things look simple on their own. The simpler the better! I think that goes a long way with an outfit.”

Why did you choose this particular outfit? “I actually looked on Pinterest for this outfit. I knew it was starting to get warmer out so I wanted to go with lighter colors. These were all pieces that I had at home and that I could easily pull [them] together. I also liked that it was all nude. Some people may not like that but I think [the color combo] made [the outfit] look more effortless and classy.”

What fashion advice would you give to other students looking to improve their style? “I would honestly say to look online. Don’t wait until the morning of to start planning your outfit for that day. When you have time, look online for pieces you like and save them to an album on your phone. That makes it so much easier and more fun than stressing about your outfit. You should enjoy your style.”

What are your favorite trends right now? “I love sunglasses right now. Get a few different pairs of sunglasses, even if they are cheap ones and then you can style your outfit around the glasses. You can dress an outfit up or down with a cute pair of glasses. Plus you’re helping yourself by protecting your eyes while adding a cute accessory.”

Do you have any favorite fashion designers? If so, who? “I don’t follow any designers to be honest. I take more of my inspiration from different people so I have variety in my outfits.”

What do you do for fun – do you have any unique hobbies or interests? “A huge part of my life is working out and the gym. To be honest, half of my wardrobe is gym clothes. I love styling my workout clothes as well. I do the same thing by taking inspiration from Pinterest.”

If you could raid anyone’s closet, who would it be and why? “For shoes I would definitely raid the Kardashians. I absolutely love shoes, I’m a shoe addict. I also love Jessica Arevalo. She’s a fitness model on Instagram who recently came out with a clothing line for everyday
clothes, not just fitness stuff. She’s a really great example of being able to love that fitness side
of you[rself] but also being able show off your girly side.”

Elements of Beth’s Outfit

1. Gold Watch

Along with sunglasses, watches are another staple in Beth’s wardrobe. Accessorizing is a great way to spice up an outfit. Beth currently loves statement watches with large faces like this one from Fossil.

2. Strappy Sandals

Shoes can make or break an outfit. Even when working out, Beth has eight pairs of Nikes to choose from. An ever-evolving shoe collection is a perfect way to finish off any outfit. These brown chunky sandals are the perfect addition to Beth’s muted outfit.
