Tobias’s outfit made me look twice today as I spotted him walking across campus. His simple aesthetic and his wild bedhead formed a fresh combo for spring — he definitely stood out in a sea of other students!

Let’s Talk Fashion
Who or what inspires your style? “Mostly I do get inspired by my own generation, but on the other hand also from people who already have an established life and enough money to get by. I like to have a little glam as well as a little trash in my life. Together they are perfect.”
Where do you like to shop? “[I shop] at a variety of stores. But amongst my favorites are Peek & Cloppenburg, Imperio, and Pako Loren.”
How would you describe your sense of style? “Although fashion has a huge influence on my everyday life I have never tried to describe my personal sense of style. But if I had to, I would describe it as a mixture of a hipster and a wealthy man.”
Why did you choose this particular outfit? “After a long time, I wanted to show off my Yamamotos again! Complementing them with a rather simple outfit seemed the right choice.”
What fashion advice would you give to other students looking to improve their style? “Everybody has a different sense of style. So embrace it! The most important thing is that you have a good feeling while you wear your clothes, so go ahead and be yourself.”
What are your favorite fashion trends right now? “I do enjoy two style trends at the moment. The first one is the torn up, long sleeved hipster style. The second one is the more classic conservative style. Those styles get even better when you mix them together!”
Do you have any favorite fashion designers? If so who? “Of course I have! For me it’s Calvin Klein and Diesel. Both of [these] designer brands have a very simple aesthetic, making it [great] to mix and match with more powerful and eye-catching pieces.”
Do you have any unique hobbies or interests? “I make the world my runway.”
If you could raid anyone’s closet, who would it be and why? “As cheesy as it sounds I would love to look inside Justin Bieber’s closet. I have never seen him in the same clothes twice and he also has a lot of money [and access to designer clothes] – so it would be interesting to see what he has.”
