Choosing my favorites from the Spring 2018 and Fall 2018 collections.

Earlier this week, NYFW’s Fall 2018 shows came to a close. While fashion is pushing toward fall, I’m still dreaming about the Spring 2018 looks from September. During both seasons, designers like Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, and Tom Ford gave us tons of gorgeous looks to add to our inspiration boards.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the looks I want to emulate this year, so I’ve been looking to the Spring and Fall 2018 NYFW shows for inspiration.

To help you do the same, here are my favorite Spring and Fall 2018 NYFW looks. They’ve inspired me to spice up my wardrobe this year and I hope they’ll do the same for you.

Spring 2018 Collections

Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta Spring 2018

This look from Oscar de la Renta’s Spring 2018 collection is so light and fun; it practically screams spring.

The bright pink hue of the straight-cut ankle pants is the perfect bold addition to any spring wardrobe, while the floral-embellished bag is a literal nod to the season of flowers.

Oscar de la Renta Spring 2018

Okay, I could not help but include another Oscar de la Renta look here: Talk about a dress!

I love everything about this dress from Oscar de la Renta Spring 2018. It’s elegant and charming. It has the sparkle to make it pop. It falls from the black tone to the soft white at the bottom. It’s magnificent, breathtaking, show-stopping.

This look is by far my favorite from any designer at the Spring 2018 shows.

Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren Spring 2018

Most of Ralph Lauren’s looks from this show showcased a crisp blue and white theme and I loved almost every piece that was worn on the runway.

This Spring 2018 Ralph Lauren strapless dress is one of my favorites from the collection because it reminds me of spending a light and breezy Saturday afternoon at an outdoor wedding. It turns heads with its fun print and it looks light and comfortable.

Coach

Coach Spring 2018

Coach brought back ’80s metallics and mesh and the result is so good.

By paring the mesh sleeves with a metallic collar and sequined slip dress, Coach has nailed the ’80s-meets-modern look.

This look is edgy, girly, and fun all in one. It’s also fantastic layering inspiration for the spring season.

Marchesa

Last on my list of spring favorites is this black tulle Marchesa dress from their Spring 2018 collection.

I love the addition of the cascading pink flowers from the shoulders down and I really love the asymmetrical neckline. This gown is the perfect mix of dramatic and sweet. It’s tasteful yet fun and definitely makes a statement.

Fall 2018 Collections

Alexander Wang

Alexander Wang Fall/Winter 2018

We can still get inspiration right now from the Fall 2018 collections — after all, many of the looks are season-less. This is certainly true for this Alexander Wang dress from the Fall/Winter 2018 collection.

This piece is a fun mix of rebellious schoolgirl meets polished business woman. I love the mystery this look embodies, and I’m obsessed with its slightly risque vibe.

Zimmermann

Zimmermann Unbridled Fall 2018

This Zimmermann Fall 2018 zip-front dress is my favorite look from any designer from the Fall 2018 NYFW shows.

The dusty mauve hue of the dress toes the line between spring and fall to perfection — this is yet another three-season piece. I love the choice of the soft leather fabric combined with the sweet tied sleeves and bow-embellished corset. The high neckline breathes mystery and polish into the look, finishing off this one-of-a-kind piece.

Brandon Maxwell

I love this Brandon Maxwell look for many reasons. First — and most importantly for our audience — it looks designer but also looks like something you could easily recreate in an affordable clothing store

Another reason I absolutely adore this outfit is because of the cropped sweater. Cropped sweaters are one of my favorite recent trends, and I’m glad to see them still going strong in Fall 2018 looks.

The metallic flared pant creates a fun ’80s-inspired feel for the look, finishing off this sleek yet soft ensemble.

Cushnie et Ochs

Cushnie et Ochs Fall 2018

I love how simple and elegant this Fall 2018 Cushnie et Ochs Jumpsuit is. It’s the perfect fusion of workwear and “night out” clothes. Overall, it embodies Cushnie et Ochs’ sexy NYC feel.

Michael Kors

Michael Kors Fall 2018

The last look on my list of favorites is this Michael Kors look from their Fall 2018 collection. I love that it incorporates spring/summer colors yet is perfect for dropping temperatures thanks to the fuzzy knits and statement coat.

The bright yellow hue of the faux fur coat brings a fun, lively feel to the look, while the high turtleneck sweater tones everything down and creates balance. This look is great inspiration for both early Spring 2018 and next fall.

Thoughts?

Though I only featured 10 looks from the 2018 NYFW seasons, there were hundreds of others I didn’t have space to feature. To check out more looks from the weeks, see Vogue’s full fashion week coverage.
