Find your style soundtrack for this summer!

One Event, Three Ways is a new column where we take fun events and life moments and create picture perfect outfits in three different styles, perfect for staying true to your aesthetic!

Maybe I’m just nostalgic for summers past, but for me, no summer is complete without a summer concert. A warm night full of music, amazing people, and excitement in the air? That’s like a full summer in one event!

Of course, what kind of concert you go to will define your mood and style for the night. What you wear to, say, a Panic! At the Disco concert will be so different from what you wear to a J. Cole concert or to a Lumineers concert, and so on.

This week, I put together some summer concert outfit ideas that will help you get your groove on in comfort while keeping your personal style intact!

Indie Concert Outfit: Boho-Chic

Products: Shirt – Hollister, Shorts – Boohoo, Hat – Billabong, Purse – Target, Sandals – Macy’s

True, when you think of boho, you think of dreamy skirts and maxi dresses. However, I think you can still be boho by swapping out the traditional skirt for some nature-inspired floral print shorts and some traditional accessories.

Grab a band-inspired tee (or an actual concert tee!) and let the shorts be the attention grabber. (For a concert, shorts are a smart idea because you can dance without fear of tripping on your outfit, and it’s also an original look!)

To make sure you retain your bohemian style, reach for such essentials such as a wide-brim hat (to wear over messy waves) and gladiator sandals. Finish the look with a small crossbody bag to keep your essentials in and your hands-free.

Hip Hop Concert Outfit: Trendy Cool-Girl Vibes

Products: Crop Top – Etsy, Skirt – Hollister, Choker – Lulus, Purse – Miss Selfridge, Shoes – Zappos

Concerts, I feel, are one of those events where you can dress up and down at once. With songs like “Bad and Boujee” lighting up the charts this year, that aesthetic of fancy but not (kinda a dressed down electro-urban vibe) is perfect for concert season.

Embody those ideas in a bodycon skirt and a cool crop top, a pairing that works and produces a silhouette a bit more sexy than sweet. The purse and choker look super luxe, maybe more appropriate for date night, so keep the look grounded by slipping on your trusty sneakers!

Pop Concert Outfit: Classic Style

Products: Dress – Hollister, Shirt – Hollister, Sunglasses – Amazon, Shoes – Belk

If you prefer your music sweet and your fashion that way too, this is the outfit for you, classic girl.

The dress is classy with its high neck but made modern with some side cutouts. The chambray shirt is perfect for adding a little polish and character to the look, almost presenting itself as “practiced casual.”

Keep the shoes simple for your dancing – I love these slip-on Toms! Finally, the sunglasses are a cute touch that reminds us of the most talked about subject in music: love.

What do you think?

What concerts are you heading to this summer? Any styles you want to see outfits inspired by? Any cool events coming up for you that you’re excited to dress up for? Let me know in the comments!
