If you like donuts and sleeping in, this is the article for you.

Today we continue our series of outfits inspired by fun, lesser-known holidays. If you, like me, enjoy delighting friends and coworkers with fun little nuggets of information, like the fact that there is an annual race for people wearing high-heels, then you’ll appreciate this series of posts inspired by obscure days celebrated in each month.

Today, we’re dressing for a few cool holidays in November. Thanksgiving isn’t the only game in town this month! Mark your calendar for the special days below:

Nov 5: National Donut Day – $96.90

November 5 is actually the second doughnut day celebrated in the year, the first being the first Friday in June. The November one is the more questionable in origin of the two, however we’re not here to argue with an excuse to buy tons of doughnuts.

There are many theories for the origins of this popular sweet treat. One theory is that it was created by an American sailor, Hanson Gregory, who cut out a hole in some dough with a tin box. Another common citation is in History of New York, in which Washington Irving described some sweet dough fried in pig fat. No matter where this delectable dessert came from, donut miss out on doughnut deals happening at your local bakeries!

Products: Top | Pants | Boots | Donut Pin | Coffee Pin

This look is sweet, preppy, and perfect for donut-eating. On this simple top, pin some cute donut and coffee pins to the peter-pan collar to add some personality. These striped pants mix the casual vibe of joggers with the classic feel of trousers. Then slip on these pointed Chelsea boots to add some height as you’re browsing through the donut selection!

Nov 6: Daylight Savings Time – $95.74

November 6 is the day when we get a precious extra hour. This time change was meant to give us another hour of natural sunlight during prime work times, and for us college students it means we get an extra hour to sleep that night! Not all countries participate, but personally, this holiday is one I definitely appreciate!

Products: Cardigan | Dress | Leggings | Flats | Necklace | Watch

This look is one that allows you to roll out of bed and be ready to head to class after sleeping in an extra hour. This silky dress is reminiscent of luxurious sleepwear, and the long, gray cardigan is basically a portable blanket. Then put on some comfortable leggings and some cozy velvet slipper flats. Complete the look with layered necklaces with moon charms and a moon phase watch that will help you keep track of the time. (Just remember to turn it back an hour!)

Nov 10: National Forget-Me-Not Day – $98.78

November 10 is Forget-Me-Not Day, dedicated to reaching out to loved ones that you may not have spoken to in a while. While it is a small gesture, you’ll find that just five minutes of conversation can make someone’s day!

The name also refers to a blue flower that symbolizes “a connection that lasts through time.” Wondering why the flower has such a specific name? Well, it was named from the same phrase in German, “Vergissmeinnicht.” The myth describes two lovers that see the blue flowers along the Danube River, but the man gets swept away by the river when he tries to pick some flowers for her. He tells her not to forget him, even as he is carried away by the river.

Okay, it’s a bit of a sad story, but you can celebrate the holiday by making others (and yourself) happy by reconnecting!

Products: Coat | Top | Pants | Purse | Flats

This outfit is inspired by the brilliant color of the flowers. The center of the flower is a yellow, reflected in this ribbed mustard sweater. I paired it with some structured black trousers and a powder-blue blazer to symbolize the color of the petals. Then, I topped it off with some soft ballerina flats and a vibrant crossbody bag in the famous hue. This look is perfect for casual strolls or more formal events.
