Perfect Outfits for 3 Summer Indoor Activities
Because sometimes it’s just too hot to be outside.
Summer is all about being out there in the sun any chance you get, but sometimes the heat and the humidity can get the best of you. Some days, you just want to be indoors with the A/C (aka bae when it gets too hot out). But that doesn’t mean you should sacrifice fun for comfort! There are a ton of indoor summer activities to do that you can enjoy without breaking a sweat.
Here are a couple of outfits along with some ideas on what to do indoors on a super hot day:
1. Visit a Museum
Products: Top – Nasty Gal, Jeans – Abercrombie and Fitch, Bralette – Aritzia, Mules – Nordstrom, Necklace – Shashi
You can obviously visit the museum all year round — but going to the museum on an über hot day is perfect; you get to cool yourself down and enjoy the art in the meantime. (It’s also a really cute date idea!) Many museums have artwork exhibited both indoors and outdoors — so you can get the best of both worlds and be outside for a bit when the draft of the A/C gets too strong.
This long sleeve tie-front shirt is the perfect top for the museum: it’s flowy and feminine. Pair this with some straight leg jeans and leopard print mules to toughen up the look. A pop of pattern is always an easy way to elevate any simple outfit to a great one. Make sure to wear a bralette underneath your top to avoid any wardrobe mishaps!
2. Arcade
Products: Bodysuit – ASOS, Pants – Urban Outfitters, Bandana – Urban Outfitters, Shoes – Converse
Find your inner child again by engaging in some friendly competition at the arcade. Make sure you’re dressed to win in something cute but comfortable enough to move around in. You don’t want your clothes to stand in your way of defeating your opponent at air hockey.
For this outfit, I opted for a black bodysuit as the base of the look, and paired it with an interesting piece for the bottom — checkered kick flare pants.
The bodysuit allows you to move as freely as you want without worrying about your shirt riding up throughout the day. Patterns and kick flare pants are two huge trends for this summer, so these gingham pants are a great piece to have in your wardrobe. The black and white color of the checkers tones down the loudness of the print, while creating an eye-catching look.
3. Dinner and Salsa Dancing
Products: Dress – Lulu’s, Heels – Call it Spring, Earrings – Baublebar
The “dinner and salsa dancing” combo is a big trend in many cities. You first get a three-course dinner, and afterwards, a dance lesson awaits you. And doesn’t that sound perfect for a Friday night?
I love this idea because you can do this with your friends for a fun night out, or with your S/O as a romantic date. Dancing is a great activity to blow off some steam after a long week, plus it’s amazing exercise.
Since we’re dancing – we have to wear a dress that will twirl as you dance (think the dancing girl emoji here). This one from Lulu’s is incredibly flattering with a v-shaped neckline, and it also has slits on the sides that amp up the sultriness of the dress. Complete the outfit with some bright earrings — make sure you put your hair up so you can dance your heart out!
These are my three go-to indoor activities for the summer!
