Spring has sprung, but my wardrobe hasn’t!

So this week’s challenge was kind of chosen for me because of the weather – I haven’t been home to trade out my winter clothes for my spring wardrobe and the weather is starting to get warm! (I’m not the only one who can’t fit it all in my tiny dorm closet right??) So, I’ve been forced to style my favorite winter pieces for spring.

This challenge was actually super fun and a lot easier than I expected! It’s a great way to learn how to get the most wear out of your fave pieces and be able to wear them for more of the year! Look below for some outfit sets for inspiration.

Monday

Products: Dress – Forever 21, Jacket – Forever 21, Booties – Target, Necklace – Charming Charlie

For this outfit, I restyled a cute pair of fall ankle booties for spring. I paired them with this adorable pink sundress and added a denim jacket on top. To accessorize, I added a long, metallic fringe necklace. The jacket and booties will keep you warm if it’s still cold in your area, but the dress makes this outfit feel spring-y.

Tuesday

Products: Sweater – Red Dress Boutique, Shorts – Forever 21, Sandals – Target, Bracelets – Charming Charlie

I have sooooo many sweaters and for some reason I pack them away as soon as I start planning for spring break. Sweaters are so perfect for spring weather and can be styled many different ways, so I decided to plan this outfit around this precious pink lace-up sweater. I paired the sweater with some cream-colored, flowy shorts and added metallic and brown sandals. To finish the look, I added a dainty bracelet set in coordinating colors.

Wednesday

Products: Top – Red Dress Boutique, Coat – Loft, Jeans – American Eagle, Flats – Target, Necklace – Red Dress Boutique

I know in a lot of places it’s still very cold, so I decided to style this gorgeous coat for spring! If it’s too cold to wear spring styles, the best way to incorporate the season is through bright or pastel outerwear. I love this light pink coat (it’s a little more pricey than what I’d normally feature, but I think it’s worth it for a quality coat that will work for 2+ seasons!), and I paired it with a robins egg blue peplum top to incorporate another classic spring color. To finish the look, I added classic jeans, blush ballet flats, and a light pink tassel necklace.

Thursday

Products: Dress – Forever 21, Scarf – Target, Shoes – Red Dress Boutique, Bracelets – Target

Scarves are another winter staple that can easily be incorporated into a spring outfit. Instead of pairing a heavy scarf with a sweater or coat, opt for a lighter scarf and wear it with a comfy tee shirt dress! For this outfit, I added some trendy espadrille sandals, too! To finish off the look, I found a bracelet set in coordinating colors.

Friday

Products: Top – Forever 21, Skirt – Forever 21, Necklace – Forever 21, Shoes – Target

Velvet is considered a winter fabric, but you can totally wear it into the spring if you style it right. For instance, here I paired this velvet mini skirt with a black off-the-shoulder top. I also added a pink necklace to tie in with the skirt. For shoes, I went with black platform sandals to bring in the black from the blouse. This look would be perfect for going out with friends on a Friday night!

Saturday

Products: Flannel – American Eagle, Top – Francescas, Shorts – American Eagle, Shoes – Converse, Necklaces – Forever 21

Flannels are such a classic piece for colder weather because they’re so versatile! You can wear yours into the warmer weather by channeling your inner ’90s grunge goddess and tying it around your waist. I paired this gray and black flannel with distressed black denim shorts and an adorable cactus graphic tee. To go along with the ’90s vibe, I added a black choker set. For shoes, I chose classic white Converse. The best part about this look is that if you get cold, you can untie the flannel and put it on over the top if it’s cold.

Sunday

Products: Top – Red Dress Boutique, Skirt – Forever 21, Necklace – Target, Shoes – Target

For the last day of this challenge, I decided to style a corduroy skirt. Even though they’ve been trendy all fall and they’re probably still going to be everywhere for spring, corduroy is technically a winter fabric. I found this gorgeous light blue skirt that’s perfect for spring and I paired it with a cream ruffle-sleeved top with a neutral tassel necklace. For shoes, I incorporated a little more of the blue shade with these fun sandals.
