Celebrity Street Style of the Week: Karlie Kloss, Julianne Hough, & Lily Collins

Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Karlie Kloss, Julianne Hough, and Lily Collins. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.

Look 1: Karlie Kloss’s Plaid Cape

Supermodel Karlie Kloss took to the chilly streets of New York City in an eye-catching red and black plaid cape and over-the-knee boots. Karlie wore dark jeans with some minor distressing, a plain black turtleneck, and a black handbag and sunglasses, all of which allowed her cape to shine. 

A cape makes for a fun alternative to regular outerwear, and the print is perfect for the winter season. Paired with trendy OTK boots, this outfit is a chic daytime look that’s still functional for walking around your city.

When you really want a certain clothing item or accessory to stand out, a great way to showcase it is by keeping the rest of your ensemble simple and monochromatic; especially all black. That is just what Karlie did to make her fabulous plaid cape catch our attention.

This green and black cape is super cute and seasonal, and will give you a similar look to Karlie’s– plus, it has a hood! (Always a plus.) Wear it over a plain black turtleneck sweater, some dark skinny jeans with slight distressing, and some flat black OTK boots. Keep accessories simple yet chic with a black satchel or bucket bag and some dark sunglasses. 

Look 2: Julianne Hough’s Androgynous Cool

Julianne Hough was all smiles in a chic look that was androgynous yet edgy. She wore a pair of menswear-inspired gray trousers with a faint plaid print and a faux leather top with a plunging neckline for a flirty touch. She topped off her ensemble with a leather moto jacket which added edge to her look. While her outfit has a “borrowed from the boys” feel, she kept her accessories feminine with black pointy-toe pumps and a structured clutch bag.

Julianne’s outfit is perfect for a night out, and is sure to stand out in a crowd, as it’s a cool alternative to more typical skinny jeans or dresses. These menswear-inspired trousers have a relaxed fit that makes them super similar to Julianne’s, as well as turned-up hems and a plaid print. 

Give the trousers an edgy, feminine twist by pairing them with a faux-leather v-neck top, a faux leather biker jacket, and some pointy-toe pumps. Complete the ensemble with a structured clutch for some added glam.

Look 3: Lily Collins’s Chic Waterfall Coat

Actress Lily Collins was cold-weather-ready in a simple yet chic look this past week. Like Karlie Kloss, Lily made her outerwear the statement piece of her ensemble, wearing a long gray coat with a waterfall neckline over an all-black sweater and jeans combo. She also wore a pair of black ankle boots with her cropped denim, and added some dark, oversized sunglasses. Lily’s look is effortless yet polished, and while it’s on trend, it won’t go out of style.

Lily’s look is easy to put together, and will have you looking polished in minutes. Simply wear a plain black sweater with some dark gray or washed black cropped skinny jeans and a pair of black ankle booties. The focal point of this ensemble is the outerwear, and this gray waterfall duster coat is the perfect dupe for Lily’s. The waterfall collar adds some flair to the otherwise classic coat, and the coat itself can be worn dressed up or casually. For a daytime look, complete the outfit with some dark, oversized sunglasses.
